Q.

What is the difference between cable broadband and dsl broadband?

A.

DSL high speed Internet service is delivered through a standard phone line. Cable broadband is delivered through a cable line. Truthfully, both are equally fast and reliable. However, cable broadband is shared-line technology, which means that the line is generally less secure and can experience "traffic jams" that may affect speed when everyone in a neighborhood is online at once. DSL Broadband is private-line technology and thusly is more secure, and is less affected by the number of users in a neighborhood at any given time.

Q.

As a small Maine-based business, I need my telecom services to be reliable, affordable and hassle-free. From a service standpoint, I need my provider to be there if or when I need them, and I want to talk to a real person, based here, not overseas. Can you do all that?

A.

Yes we can, and currently we do with well over a thousand customers just like you. Pine Tree Networks, headquartered at Pineland Farms in New Gloucester is also a Maine-based business just like you.
